Winnie Mae

Winnie Mae. She was born in Hokitika in the South Island of New Zealand, her dad was a bee keeper and her mum was a theatre usherette. She met Wilfrid at a local dance when she was 18, he was playing the banjo and she was wearing her beautiful blue frock with large white daisies around the hemline.
After a 12 month courtship, in which they kissed twice, and wrote many letters, they were married and went to live in the farm cottage on his parent's hill country sheep station. They have nine wonderful children and are very happy. Winnie is very good at making delicious home grown meals; she loves having visitors and always has a batch of pumpkin scones ready. Now that the children have left home she has more time to help out with the 'Matron's Matching Team' as well as organize hill climbs for the 'Women's Wheelie's' 4 Wheel Drive Club. She knits tea cozies on Tuesdays and plays darts at the pub on Thursdays. Wilfrid and Winnie love spending holidays at the Coast, fishing, reading thrillers, making baskets and white water rafting Winnie has sat her driver's license 43 times; she is hoping to pass very soon, so she can drive on the road. In the meantime she sticks to the farm tracks and bikes to town for CWI meetings.

Wilfrid

Wilfrid

Wilfrid, he is fun and friendly and easy to make. Wilfrid comes from good stock. Born in New Zealand at a huge South Island farm house with large verandas all around where he now loves sitting in the sun, drinking his morning 'cuppa'and chatting to the farm workers. He wears comfy slippers, as he has 'tired old bones' from mustering on his sheep station all those years. Wilfrid is a cheerful happy soul, he loves telling his grandchildren scary stories and showing them card tricks. On occasions he and his family take a picnic lunch (bacon and egg pie and home made ginger beer) to the beach, (he changes his slippers for a pair of sand shoes!) Made from doll velour, Wilfrid stands approx 44cm high (17inches) He has wired legs and stands on his own (bent legs and all!) He wears baggy shorts or long trousers and his favorite shirt. You can make him slightly bald or fairly bald or with a decent head of grey hair, even a beard. He has a sculptured face to give him that friendly look and has been known to pose as Santa or a little green man from Ireland!
